Creative Community Nursing

CCLS nursing resources serve a significant role in supporting our mission. The CCLS nursing department currently contracts with six counties serving more than 225 individuals . Registered nurses primarily perform personal care work with clients, including assessments, supervision and training on personal care activities. CCLS nurses have gained a reputation for quality work and dependability.

In 2006, the CCLS nursing department piloted the Community Nurse Network (CNN) in Dane County. The key responsibility of the CNN is to provide nursing insight and support to clients with chronic health concerns. CNN staff assist those clients to stay healthy in the community and to minimize costly hospitalizations or emergency/urgent care visits. The CNN is not intended to be a replacement for the client’s own health care team, but rather a valuable community support for that team.
